Authenticity & Care

How to verify authenticity

Every Cortese piece comes with a personalised Certificate of Authenticity (Certificato di Garanzia) bearing a unique edition number — № X of 1500. The certificate carries a QR code. Scan it with your phone camera to open a page in the Cortese registry showing the model, edition number, year of issue and finish. If the details match, the piece is authentic and recorded in the maker’s registry. Anyone the piece is given or resold to can verify it too: the registry opens from the link on the certificate.

Care

Hand-painted and gilded porcelain needs gentle handling: dust with a soft dry or slightly damp brush or a microfibre cloth; never use abrasives, solvents or household chemicals — they damage the painting and gilding; do not wash in a dishwasher; protect from sudden changes in temperature and humidity and from direct sunlight; lift the piece by its base, not by thin protruding details; use soft packaging for moving and storage.

The individuality of handwork

Each piece is painted by hand, so slight differences in the shades of the painting, the depth of the gilding and the texture are a property of handwork, not a defect. They are what make your piece one of a kind: no two pieces are ever exactly alike.

Warranty

We guarantee our pieces to be free of hidden manufacturing defects. Should such a defect appear, we will repair or replace the piece free of charge. The warranty does not cover damage from mishandling, drops or self-repair, nor the natural micro-variations of handwork (see above).

Restoration

Workshop restoration is available on request, for a fee. Write to us with photographs of the damage and we will assess whether restoration is possible, the work involved and the cost.

Delivery

Worldwide delivery by DHL Express or EMS. Times and cost depend on the country and are quoted on request. Every piece is carefully packed in a box with protective filling.
