Barber

The bald barber stands over his customer in a white coat, one hand lifting a lock of hair, the scissors close to the head and combs showing in his breast pocket. The boy sits in a wooden chair with a footrest, wrapped in a blue cape printed with small motifs, plaid trousers and shoes visible below it. Bottles, a lather bowl and a brush are set out on the floor beside a small stack of books. The base is laid as uneven pale flagstones.
