Child in a Cradle

The cradle is carved as a wooden crib on curved rockers, the boards grained along the headboard and sides. The child lies on a pink pillow scattered with cornflowers, wearing a spotted blue nightcap and matching pyjamas, a dummy in his mouth. A quilt printed with small blue flowers is pushed to one side and spills over the edge. A teddy bear in blue booties hangs from the loosened hand above the rectangular wooden base.
