Little Piper

Sitting on a rock with one leg stretched out and the other drawn back, the boy raises a short wooden pipe to his mouth. Both hands cup the instrument from below and his eyes stay down on his fingers. A soft-brimmed straw hat is pushed to the back of the head, dark curls escaping under it. Rust shirt, blue dungarees on braces and worn black boots complete the dress, over stony ground with sparse grass.
