Return from the Hunt

At the left the woman, in a white kerchief and red bodice, bends to hold a white goose by its tied feet, the bird's wings spread wide. Opposite her a bearded man in a blue waistcoat sits on a stool, elbow on the table and fingers raised to his mouth. The cloth, printed with diamonds and small flowers, carries a plate of food, a dark flask, a glass, fruit and grapes. A white and tan hound lies stretched out under the boards.
