Bouquet (Young Couple)

An ivy-grown stone pier splits the scene: on the left the young man rests his elbows on it, chin propped on a fist, in a brown coat. To the right the girl holds a woven basket in front of her, filled with modelled roses in pink, blue and yellow. Her laced bodice sits over a cream gown printed with small flower sprigs. The two look at each other across the pier, and his free hand stays flat on its top. A gilt band and a white wave border finish the base.
