Circus Scene

Head thrown back, the clown conducts with a baton in one hand and an open score in the other. His costume is painted circus-bright: olive tailcoat, peach trousers scattered with stars and dots, a checked patch at the knee. To the right a boy in a green waistcoat and red fez brings a pair of brass cymbals together, and a white dog rests its paws on a side drum by the clown's feet. Coloured stars run around the oval base.
