Napoleon on Horseback

One gesture organises the whole figure: the right hand pressed to the breast of the coat, the left holding the rein close to the withers. The coat is green with red collar and gold epaulettes, a white cloak is folded across the saddle, and the legs end in black boots with spurs. The white horse walks with its head turned outward, the harness brown with gilt buckles. Ivy and small flowers cover the ground above the marbled plinth.
