The Concert (Quartet)

The scene gathers round the harpsichord. A lady in cream lowers her fingers to the keys; in front of the instrument a boy in a green tailcoat plays a transverse flute. To the right a harpist in a golden wrap works the strings, and at the edge a young cellist draws his bow. A candelabrum burns on the case, while an open book and loose sheets of music lie across the red carpet.
