The flower girl has perched on a fallen log with her legs crossed, an oval hand mirror held in her right hand and the left raised to her hair. Large gold hoops hang at her ears, a fine chain with a pendant lies at her throat, and a blossom is tucked into her dark waves. The dress works in terracotta and black: a ruffled bodice, a broad sash, a skirt painted with flowers over a white lining. A wicker basket of roses stands on the log at her left.
