Cherub with Mandolin on a Cloud

The cloud is modelled with a rippling edge that serves as both ground and frame, pierced at the top for hanging. The cherub holds a gilded mandolin across his chest, the right hand at the rose of the soundboard and the left along the neck. Blond curls fall in wide rings and the wings are painted in lilac over yellow. Blue cloth slips from one shoulder, and a scroll at the base carries a stave with small black notes.
