Reading Cherubs (Pair)

The figure runs horizontally: the body rests on one side, the ankles cross in the air, and both hands hold an open book with gilded edges. The head bends to the page and the eyes are lowered. Small bouquets are painted across the pale pink gown, gold ornament covers the bodice, and a broad gilt band follows the hem. The wings lie back along the shoulders with every feather drawn in grey over white.
