The cupid raises a gilded leaf toward his face, a cluster of bright red berries resting on it — the only colour beside his copper hair. His eyes drop to his hands and his lips stay closed. The wings fold back, each feather rimmed in gold. The rocaille plinth is painted with gilt foliage over white, and the right foot steps past its edge. The piece closes the group of four putti.
