Dancing Lady

The right arm is lifted and open, the left hand drops along the skirt: the figure is caught turning through a dance step. A dark red bodice with gold lacing and white cuffs sets off the pale skirt, which is painted in vertical garlands of small flowers over cream and rose panels. A straw hat hangs behind her on its ribbons, and the tip of one shoe shows below the hem.
