The nude figure rests back against a tree trunk and lifts a gilded apple towards her face, eyes turned aside. Her right hand steadies a dry branch; her left leg reaches down until the toes touch the grass. Behind her a serpent painted in cobalt with gold-picked scales runs along the bough. Deep grooves cut the bark, and the green turf of the base closes in a gilt rim.
