Girl's Bust

The portrait bust is cut at the chest and set on a white column banded twice in gold. The hair is drawn into a high bun tied with a bow, the fringe cut straight across the brow. A peach shirt with a turned collar carries gilt edging along the placket and two rows of modelled buttons. The face keeps the pale tone of the porcelain, with soft colour laid across the cheekbones, and the whole stands on a turned wooden base.
