Music Lesson

Seated sideways at the harpsichord, the lady lowers her fingers to the keys and keeps her eyes on the sheet music. Beside her a boy in a green tailcoat and striped breeches raises a transverse flute to his lips. A painted candelabrum with three candles stands on the instrument; a red carpet, a green-bound volume and a fallen sheet of music fill the floor. The oval base is finished with a gilt scroll.
