She sits with her head bent towards the neck of the guitar, the right hand at the strings and the left closed near the pegs. Small blossoms are set into her loose dark hair, gold hoops hang at her ears, and a terracotta shawl slips over her shoulders. The yellow dress is painted with broad flowers and edged in a turquoise frill; the wide skirt spreads across the grass and one bare foot shows beneath it. A horseshoe lies on the base by the hem.
