The sledge runs down a bank of snow while the girl steers with one rope and lifts her other hand in a red mitten. Her green coat has blown open on its flowered lining, a striped yellow and blue scarf crosses her shoulder, and buttoned yellow boots brace against the runners. Small modelled flowers push through the snow along the slope, and a gilt meander bands the rim of the base.
