Ballerina (the Splits)

The dancer has gone down into a full splits, legs stretched along a single line, feet in ribboned pink points, arms opened wide at shoulder height. Her pink bodice on narrow straps carries a gilt scroll at the centre, and the tutu lies around the waist in a broad ring. Gold foliate ornament runs in large repeats along its waved edge. The hair is pinned into a bun and the head tilts a little forward.
