The girl perches on a dry branch, head inclined towards her outstretched hand where a red butterfly has come to rest. Her pale blue dress is painted with small flowering sprigs, the ruffles at the neckline and hem laid in soft waves, a pink slipper showing beneath. Long hair falls loose over one shoulder.
