Blessing Baby Jesus
The infant rests on one bent arm while the other reaches upward. His robe is blue, strewn with small gold stars and edged in a gilt line. A rayed gold disc is fixed behind the head as a halo. Hands and bare feet are left in pale biscuit tone, carrying the lightest passage of the piece. The head is tipped back and the sleeve gathers along the movement of the raised arm.
