Fisherman

The fisherman sits on a rock at the water's edge with one bare foot in the surf, a fish hanging from the line in his left hand and the rod gripped in his right, its hook rising above his head. A red scarf with a tassel is tied around his head and his grey beard is combed into strands. Torn slate-blue trousers show his knees; a net and a crumpled red cloth lie beside him on wet modelled sand.
