Hussar on Horseback

The white horse walks forward, one foreleg lifted, while the hussar sits upright with a single hand on the rein. His dolman and pelisse are russet, crossed by dense rows of gold braid, and a fur busby with a green feather sits high on the head. A gold-hilted sabre and pale blue knot hang against the white saddlecloth. Below, an ivy-clad stump rises between the hooves, and the plinth front carries an eagle over crossed cannon.
