Madonna of Sacro Monte (Enthroned)

Mary sits on a tall throne with gilt twisted columns and a red back panel, both figures crowned in gold set with coloured stones. Her right hand is raised in blessing while the Child, in a grey shift with a gold chain at his neck, sits on her knee. The pink gown and blue mantle spill onto the steps, the hem finished with a painted border. Three grey marbled steps form the base, carried on a round wooden plinth.
