Shepherdess with a Lamb (the Lovers II)

The shepherdess kneels with her head slightly lowered, a sprig of pink and white blossom held in her right hand, the left dropped along the hem. Her long olive-brown dress carries fine painted sprigs, a pale shawl crosses the shoulders and the bodice is rust red. Beside her the white lamb dips its muzzle to the grass at the edge of the base. Loose red hair falls in long strands over one shoulder.
