Young Peasant (Boy)

The boy stands upright with a woven basket of red apples clamped under one arm, raising a single apple in his other hand. He wears a blue shirt with a patch pocket, grey checked trousers torn at the knee and open sandals; the brim of his hat turns up around his face. Two apples have rolled to his feet among modelled green leaves. The whole piece is mounted on a turned wooden plinth.
