Light Cavalryman on Horseback

The grey stands still with its head turned aside while the trooper holds the rein in his left hand and looks out past its ears. His blue tunic carries a black breastplate, the epaulettes and the red-plumed helmet are gilt, and a curved sabre with a gold hilt rests along the thigh. Red saddlecloth and a rolled valise behind the seat give the second note of colour. The marbled plinth adds gilt N cyphers and an eagle above crossed cannon.
