Little Rascal (Lying)

The child lies on his back with eyes closed, both legs lifted and bent, hands brought together over the chest. The head falls to the right and chestnut curls drop in large coils onto the wooden base. Gilt foliate scrolls are scattered across the white body — over the stomach, the thigh and the shins. The oval base with its brass plate holds the long horizontal of the pose.
