Madonna with Child and Angels (Plaque)

The oval panel hangs from a loop set into a deep gilt frame carved with scrolls at either side. Within the relief the Madonna bends towards the Child — blue bodice, terracotta mantle in heavy folds, a long white veil edged in gold. The Child sits on her arm and lays a hand against her cheek. Three winged cherub heads float in an arc across the clouded ground above them.
