Madonna with Child and Angels (Plaque)

A gilded oval frame encloses a crowded relief. Mary wears a blue gown under a red mantle bordered with ornament and carries the Child in white swaddling, his hand lifted toward her face. Her white veil is thrown back from the hair and folds heavily over one shoulder. Four winged cherub heads, painted with fair and dark hair, hover in the cloud above. Modelled cloud fills the ground, and carved ornaments flank the frame.
