The Crucified Christ

Two rough timbers still carrying their bark form the cross, bound with rope where they meet. Christ is painted in pale flesh tones, the head fallen toward the right shoulder, a crown of thorns in the hair and a white cloth knotted at the hip. A light titulus lettered INRI is fixed above the crossbar. The palette stops at brown wood, white and flesh, with no gilding and no colour inlay.
