Schoolchildren

Two schoolchildren keep step under a single dark brown umbrella whose wide canopy covers them both. The boy, in a blue coat with a yellow bow at the throat, carries the umbrella and a tan satchel with copybooks and a book pushed out of the flap. Beside him the girl presses a green bag to her hip, two plaits laid over a patterned shawl and a blue hat on her head. Both wear high boots, and white and pink flowers are scattered across the grassy base.
