The Four Seasons - Summer

Summer from the Four Seasons series is a girl carrying the harvest. She holds a bound sheaf of wheat against her body with both hands, dark poppies set into the ears, her head turned slightly aside. Red hair is gathered under a pale blue ribbon; the gown runs in vertical stripes with rose-coloured ribbons around the hem. The skirt falls in deep folds, and two cut flowers lie on the base at its edge.
