Clock with Venus

The female figure reclines along a ledge painted as green marble, her right arm braced on the stone, her left lifting a fold of cloth, one leg stretched down the case. The drapery is worked entirely in gold with deep hollows, and an armlet shows on the bare shoulder. Set into the front is a white dial with Roman numerals inside a cobalt ring, flanked by gilt arabesques. The stepped plinth is panelled in cobalt with gold ovals and a painted flower cartouche.
