Pastoral Clock (Boy)

The boy is stretched over the crest of the case, black shoes lifted behind him, both hands under a wicker basket heaped with dark and pale grapes on the vine. He wears a blue coat with turned cuffs, red-and-white striped breeches and a yellow hat pushed back over his curls. A gilded bezel frames the Roman-numeral dial, with small flowers painted around the rim. Heavy gilt scrolls build the case, and an arcaded gallery is pierced through the base.
