Clock Without Figures (Rococo)

The case is built from symmetrical rococo scrolls: two broad volutes carry the lower stage and draw together at a crest set with applied roses and buds. The white dial with Roman numerals sits in a wide gilt bezel, ringed by painted roses and blue and yellow blooms on fine green stems. The glaze stays white, with gold laid only along the ridges of the scrolls and around the rim. An arcaded gallery is pierced through the gilded base.
