Napoleon and Josephine

Eight figures are ranged on a tiered wooden stand with an armorial cartouche at its centre. Napoleon in a green coat and black bicorne and Josephine in a rose empire-line gown hold the upper places, flanked by a marshal, a hussar in yellow breeches, a dragoon in a crested helmet, a lancer, an imperial guard and a light cavalryman. Every gilt plinth carries a painted rank. Blue, red and white uniforms keep an even beat along the line.
